Location: St. Kilda – VIC, Australia
Today was a very relaxing day. Spent the evening walking around the boardwalks of St. Kilda. We kicked back after our walk on swings at a beachside restaurant. We enjoyed beer and wine, along with some fried chicken and swordfish ceviche (soooo good!). I was so content in that swing, sipping wine and looking out at St. Kilda beach. It was beautiful.
My friend mentioned the amusement park there, called “Luna Park”. I immediately replied with, “Luna Park? That’s what the amusement park on Coney Island is called!” And sure enough, Luna Park in St. Kilda is Coney Island’s “sister” amusement park. The same builders and entrepreneurs brought the amusement park to Australia in 1912. The entrance to this park was something out of a horror movie tho, Ha! I could definitely see the resemblence between the two Luna Parks. However creepy, I loved it! It was a classic in my eyes for old school fairs.
When looking into what St. Kilda had to offer, a few sources on the internet mentioned penguins come to the pier around dusk. We did not stay until dusk, but my friend says he used to come to that beach all the time and he’d never seen a penguin. So for me, the mystery of the penguins remains…
Tomorrow I might head back into Melbourne to check out the South Melbourne Market for the day. And then I will be spending the evening checking out Brunswick.
Until then… 🙋🏻
